Conversion vs. Transformation

I posted some thoughts at Alpha Community about contrasting ways of understanding and experiencing spiritual realities. I've been taught to focus (to the point of obsession) on salvation as an event; an occurrence. It presumes that you arrive mentally first as though the mind is the engine and the body, soul, spirit, emotions,et. al are the train cars.

I've recently permitted my self the luxury of exploring new ideas that don't fit neatly into categories and systems; there are things that I value but don't fully understand at this point and I've allowed myself to be OK when the "cerebral coach" is the last to pull into the station.
